Wii Warrior!

I consider myself as much a gamer (I really hate that term) as I do an artist. I play almost every day (to my wife's dismay). I own a DS, Wii, and Playstation 3 (60gb). I don't know who visits my blog and plays games but I want to occasionally do some video game themed art and list what I'm playing in hopes that people can see what good games are out there and post suggestions for other games I might enjoy. I'm fortunate to have 3 brothers who are all gamers and I feel like we're in our own little game club, so I at least expect them to contribute.
Right now I'm playing:
Zak and Wiki: the Quest for Barbaros Treasure - If you own a Wii I would seriously consider getting this game. It is fantastic and one of the few 3rd party Wii games to really "get" the platform.
Silent Hill: Origins - A worthy addition to the series, and considering how amazing the series is, being called a worthy addition is high praise.
Chrono Trigger - I've wanted to play this for a long time since it is generally considered one of the best console RPGs out there. Younger players might be turned off by it's 32 bit presentation (it was originally a SNES title), but don't let that stop you. It has it's reputation for a reason, the story is great the characters are charming and the gameplay is really smooth. I'm really digging it.
Rock Band - Awesome.
I've recently finished:
LOST: Via Domus - Fun for LOST fans (like me), but I can't imagine anyone else liking it.
Professor Layton and the Curious Village - If you own a DS get this game!

I think I'm pretty patient with your all your gaming, right? A little credit, please....

Anyway, this picture's great. I like to imagine he's doing a move from Hannah Montana's World Tour Wii game. Okay, I just looked closer and he IS playing it! That makes this picture even better.

Well, I'm no gamer at all. (Though recently I played "Guitar Hero" and loved it!) But the picture is great! Pose, expression and especially the lighting are just gorgeous!

Oliver, Guitar Hero is super fun. You should try Rock Band, I just beat the guitar tour on Hard. Yay me!

Oh, and thanks for the comments on the picture guys.

I imagine myself looking much like this guy in about 20 years if I don't stop drinking pepsi, especially since I get most of my exercise with the Wii. I love this picture though. I would love to see what you would do with Drakes. You should totally do one of those sometime.

No offense to you Rock Band guitar players, but the drums are where it's at. I wouldn't care if I never picked up a guitar again, as long as I can play my drums. Not that I'm any good... I'm not very coordinated and my leg endurance sucks, but I can at least get five stars on expert "Say It Aint So".

Awesome drawing Kevin. That's totally what I look like when I play Hannah Montana!

Right on, this painting depicts very well how playing video games will turn you into a soulless monster. I strongly agree with this and want the government to fix it.

For above comment. Looking awesome is not a soulless monster. Just look at those abbs not to mention the ridiculously huge arms. You can just see the passion and excitment in his face. Which I'm sure he applies to his overworked desk job at the IRS in D.C. The painting doesn't show it, but his well groomed, striate A kids, are behind him. They are cheering their successful father on... So fix what?

Great picture Kev. I'm current playing Drakes Fotune, Mario Galaxy(just passed), and Resident Evil 4. Keep playing those awesome games.

Games have never turned me into a soulless monster, I still have a soul, i'm still human and who cares if I enjoy escaping from reality for an hour or two in games, rather than in second life... I also hate the term gamer, i'd rather be called, guy who plays games...Anyways, the picture looks fabtabulous! but what game is he playing?...and games i'm playing now are: Metroid and Brawl.

For everyone who doesn't know already, you can count on 99% of everything Dave Malan says (or types) to be sarcastic.

Brian, we need to jam at work sometime - you on drums, me on guitar.

First of all Kevin, great art here. Love the pose and the lighting!

On the game front, I really should be a serious game addict, but I sort of handed that title over to my 12 year old son. He has a DS, and I have had a couple chances to play it (mostly when he asks me to draw a character for him on "Drawn to Life") and he also has a PS2. I was pretty much out of the gaming loop until Guitar Hero came around, which naturally appealed to a guitar playing old school metalhead like myself. I am still struggling to beat Guitar Hero 3 on Expert- they finally raised the bar enough to make it challenging!

Anyway- keep the great art rolling!
