Death in a Red Dress

I try to keep the spirit of Halloween in my heart the whole year round so it's nice to have the season here again for real.

I love the red dress contrasted against the gray tones. It looks great!

Things I love about this:
-The tangled, droopy trees
-The texture on the tombstone
-The wicked angularity of the scythe
-The straight lines of the dress with the wrinkles clustered at the base, but all staying in a simple shape
-The way her hair echoes the movement of the dress
-Everything

I love the red in contrast to the black and white scene in the background. Another great painting.
